Have you ever wondered what stormtroopers look like underneath their helmets? Of course you have...

After all, the Empire's elite military shock troops aren't just modern sci-fi icons, they're a huge part of all of our childhoods - despite being unable to shoot accurately at any point in the original Star Wars trilogy.

In fact, they're so beloved, that even the very suggestion of them not being exactly how some-one pictures them under their helmets can induce epic, sith-like rage in internet commentators - as shown by the outraged reaction to John Boyega's appearance as a stormtrooper in the recent Episode VII teaser trailer...

Now, if anyone out there is still mad about that, then they may want to look away now, because...

This Look Underneath Real Stormtroopers' Helmets Might Just Blow Your Mind

Yup.

Those are actors playing stormtroopers back in 1996, during the reshoots for the Star Wars Special Edition (as recently posted to Reddit by Join_You_In_The_Sun)

And, awesomely, they're all kinds of 'not just a clone of Jango Fett', just like the Expanded Universe (and now the very much still canon Star Wars Rebels) has always told us.

Now, add in this awesome image from Tunisia, way back in 1976...

...And it's not too difficult to imagine a galaxy far far away where it really doesn't matter where you're from, or what color your skin is - Just so long as you can shoot poorly, and are willing to die horribly when a Death Star explodes, the Empire wants you!

Oh, unless you're not human. In which case they probably didn't. They were always pretty species-ist, after all...

But, then again, from the looks of these shocking behind-the-scenes images, droids...

and aliens...

...were secretly human, too...

Y'know, either that, or all of the actors who played our favorite roles in Star Wars look nothing like we'd expect them to.

Either way, I now want a stormtrooper costume even more...

What do you guys reckon, though? Are there any awesome behind the scenes pictures of stormtroopers that I've missed? What are your other favorite behind the scenes pics from the movies? And just what is the deal with Kenny Baker not sharing his sandwich with that other droid?
