As Always, Beware of Potential Spoilers Below!
Truth there may be in these rumors, young Jedi.
It's beginning to amazing me how well this leaked information about [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](movie:711158) is adding up and reinforcing itself. True, there has been speculation that the Star Wars production might even be leaking its own dis-information to throw fans off the truth of the matter - but so far, things appear to be shaping up. Once again, disembark here if you wish to remain un-spoiled.
The Millennium Falcon Has Sprung Another Leak!
Previously, we've gotten into where we'll find Han, Luke and Leia, what Luke and his son might be cooking up, and whether or not the Republic might be creating its own Death Star. Now the folks at Making Star Wars have received another big collection of character info that appears to be backing up a lot of what has come before - including that crazy sounding Death Star rumor!
The Characters ReinFORCEd
The leak contains a lot of supporting character information about Daisy Ridley's Rey being Han and Leia's daughter in hiding, Domhnall Gleeson being Luke's son who is collecting intelligence on major weapons being developed by both the Empire and the Republic (that crazy Death Star?), and perhaps adding a name to Andy Serkis' Sith Lord - Kylo Ren.
The Tomb Raiders
Also included in the info is more details about how Luke Skywalker's old lightsaber, last seen being chopped away from his arm in Jedi, will be a catalyst for the events that unfold in Star Wars Episode 7. It would appear that the thing contains the power to unlock a Sith tomb that Luke has been secluded away and guarding all these years. The contents of the tomb supposedly containing some very crucial, ancient goodies, or should I say baddies, that could be used to the Empire's advantage.
Apparently Luke is getting treated to all sorts of visions and voices while he stands guard at the tomb - further giving the impression that his self-imposed exile for all these years is driving him more that a little bit kooky. But Kylo Ren is also on the hunt for the right artifact (that lightsaber) that will unlock the tomb - which may or may be the final resting place of some ancient and powerful evil. Is this where the Emperor ended up?
A Stormtrooper is Born
There's also some potential details on how John Boyega's Finn ended up being a Storm Trooper. It could be that we'll see his family and friends murdered by the Empire and a young Finn being forced into recruitment. There may even be an inside joke in Episode 7 about how Finn, being a former Stormtrooper, is an awful shot with a gun.
Again, this is all rather unsubstantiated rumor - but none of these things have really been contradicting each other. Is it all adding up or are we all falling victim to some really good fan fiction writers? As I said before, I'd be upset with all these leaks if it weren't for the fact that they're piecing together a movie I really want to see.
