Netflix is developing a live-action series surrounding the popular beloved game franchise, The Legend of Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda follows the adventures of a boy named Link, who often goes on dangerous missions in the world of Hyrule, and often finds himself saving a princess named Zelda.

The 'Zelda' games often include adventures filled with swords, explosives, jewels, potions, and sorcery. It is being described by Netflix as a, "Game of Thrones for a family audience." While having similar elements such as those of the popular HBO series, the games often take a light-hearted route when dealing with these subjects.

The series is still in early developments, with no directors or writers attached. The Japanese game developer, Nintendo, is working very closely with Netflix to bring the idea off the ground. With popular series under it's belt, such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Hemlock Grove, and the upcoming Marvel series, there is no doubt that Netflix will have no problem bringing this popular franchise to our small screens.
