February is here again and that means super heroes and sci-fi characters will descend upon the Irving Convention Center for the annual Dallas Comic Con Fan Days. For two days, thousands of pop and geek culture enthusiasts will be in their comfort zone as some of today’s hottest actors and artists come together in celebration of everything they love.

The main media focuses of this year’s event are “Arrow,” “Doctor Who,” “Star Trek,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and “Power Rangers Megaforce.” Enthusiasts of “The Walking Dead,” “Stargate SG-1,” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” have reason to get excited as well.

Celebrities who are attending include Colin Baker and Alex Kingston of “Doctor Who” fame. The Emerald Archer himself, Stephen Amell, is accompanied by co-stars David Ramsey and John Barrowman from DC Comics and the CW’s hit show “Arrow.” Original Uhura, Nichelle Nichols, and Terry Farrell are the ambassadors of the “Star Trek” franchise.

The demonic Emma Caulfield of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” makes a guest appearance. “Stargate SG-1’s” Christopher Judge and “The Walking Dead’s” Melissa McBride will be greeting fans as well. Familiar voices Chris Sarandon and Ken Page of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will be on hand to thrill lovers of Tim Burton’s holiday classic. Sarandon is also known for his roles in “Fright Night” and “Child’s Play.” The cosmic energy of the “Power Rangers Megaforce” will be felt as Red Ranger Alex Heartman and Green Ranger Azim Rizk round out the stellar line-up.

Comic book fans need not feel left out. Artists scheduled to be in attendance include Mitch Breitweiser (Captain America, Defender), Joseph Michael Linsner (creator of Dawn, Mystique, Claws), Elizabeth Breitweiser (Outcast, The Fade Out), Ken Lashley (Secret Six, Superman: Doomed), Kristina Deak (Dawn / Vampirella, Sin Boldly), Michael Lark (Daredevil, Captain America, Lazarus, The Dark Tower), Nick Pitarra (Manhattan Projects, TMNT, Astonishing Tales), Paul Maybury (Sovereign, Dogs of Mars, Valhalla Mad), Khoi Pham (Uncanny Avengers, Vanbreed Studios), and Darryl Banks (Green Lantern, Vanbreed Studios).

Matthew Waite (Deadpool, Vanbreed Studios), Joe Eisma (G.I. Joe: Cobra, Morning Glories), Steve Erwin (Deathstroke, Checkmate, Star Trek, Batman Returns), Sam De La Rosa (Spider-Man, Venom), Ben Dunn (creator of Ninja High School, Marvel Mangaverse), Cal Slayton (DC, The Walking Dead, Star Wars, Sketch Card Artist for Marvel), and Allen Cordray (8 Percent, Big Zeke) will also be on hand to do sketches and sign their artwork.

Dozens of vendors will fill the Exhibition Hall with thousands of collectibles, comics, and toys for attendees to scoop up. Attractions you can look forward to are Doctor Who props and Dean’s Chevy Impala from “Supernatural.” There will also be plenty for dressed up folks to participate in with the Cosplay Red Carpet and costume contests for both adults and kids.

Dallas Comic Con Fan Days starts on Saturday, February 7th at 10:00AM and ends at 7:00PM. The show re-opens on Sunday, February 8th at 10:00AM and wraps up at 5:00PM. For more information on prices and directions to the venue, go to the official website.
