Aside from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which is released later this year, Lionsgate is looking at the possibility of extending The Hunger Games universe past Suzanne Collins' trilogy of books.

Jon Feltheimer, Lionsgate CEO, has been quoted as saying that he is “actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities.”

Released as a novel trilogy, the studio has split the last novel into two movies with Part 1 bringing in, as of January, a whopping $334,325,799.

Nothing official has been announced as of yet and no further details has been given about what we can expect from the expanded universe.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 will be released in cinemas on November 20.
