Next week, we will see the adaptation of EL James' bestselling novel that has become a pop culture phenomenon. However, the story of 50 Shades of Grey isn't a new one.

The steamy tale of dangerous romance has been done several times and to prove it, here are four films that already dared us to be curious.

Red Shoe Diaries

David Duchovny plays a guy who learns about the secret erotic life of the woman he loves. Everything he thought he knew was a lie and what's written in her diaries changes their lives forever. On an interesting note, this movie spawn a cable series of sex stories.

Wild Orchid

A woman falls for a sexy and dangerous millionaire (Mickey Rourke) during her vacation in Rio. There was a sequel, but it wasn't good. In fact, it was worse than the films on Cinemax After Dark.

Secretary

Maggie Gyllenhaal's breakout role as a trouble secretary who starts an interesting BDSM relationship with her boss and attorney, E. Edward Grey, played by the incredible James Spader. (Funny how his last name is Grey)

Nine 1/2 Weeks

This is the film that sorta kicked off all of this. Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke play two people who fall into a sexual odyssey that borders between love and obsession.
