Following the acquisition of LucasFilms by Disney back in 2012, fans have been concerned and excited about the future of the StarWars franchise, anchored by director J.J. Abrams. However, fans have also been enthralled by the future of another well known franchise that resides at LucasFilms... A famed archeologist going by the name of Indiana Jones.

The internet has been awash with rumors that Guardians of the Galaxy, and upcoming Jurassic World lead Chris Pratt, will be taking on the role of the famed adventurer Indiana Jones in a reboot of the original franchise.

During a press appearance about his Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award, Pratt referred to the idea of him being cast in the movie as an 'awesome opportunity' according to comicbook.com.

2014 turned Pratt into a bonafide star. Accepting roles in both The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, placed him in two of the most successful films of the year. Pratt could seem like the 'safe' option to take over the mantle from Harrison Ford, the original Indiana Jones. Yet it would also be seen as a popular choice with fans. Pratt is globally revered, and his future looks bright, taking the lead in the upcoming Jurassic World (seen as a soft reboot of the franchise).
