While rumors that this was going to happen for months, today is the first day that it's been confirmed. According to The Wrap Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel Studios film in 2017, to be produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal (former head of Sony Pictures).

Sony will release the next installment, which will more than likely also be overseen by Feige and Pascal.

The article also talks about "a new creative direction," which is probably shorthand for rebooting Spider-Man with a clean slate, which means no Andrew Garfield (though it's been rumored that he was fired by Sony months ago over his comments about studio interference).
