We've all been stuck at a lifeless art gallery at some point in our lives. We try to be polite as yet another piece of work fails to elicit even the faintest glimmer of emotional response within us. We clammer for the exit as soon as it becomes acceptable to leave.
But it doesn't always have to be this way. Not all art has to be stuffy and boring.
Luckily, painter Mike Wellins creates some of the most beautifully disturbing portraits and landscapes I have ever seen.

There's something quite symbolic about the dark, red blood splattered across the white snow. The murderous robot with his back turned as the sun sets on a chilly winter evening.
