As a movie fan how great would it be to be able to suggest some nice films to your friends just by posting a simple link, and make some money on the side?

The producers of American horror feature, Rage: Midsummer's Eve have now launched a campaign to let everyone become a distributor for their film, and the concept for that is very simple.

“Not all of us have Amazon Instant, Vimeo, or even iTunes accounts”, says Tii Ricks, the director and one of the producers of Rage: Midsummer's Eve – and she is absolutely right. Although Video On Demand has become mainstream and
"the way" to watch films nowadays (honestly: who goes to a store anymore to buy DVD's?) for example Amazon Instant only operates in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Austria and Germany.

The producers of Midsummer's Eve will use a platform called Distrify as one of the Video On Demand outlets to distribute the film online. Distrify's method is brilliant: All you need to do is share a link, just like you would when you're sharing a YouTube video on Facebook, Twitter, or by Email. When someone sees the link they have the possibility to watch a trailer, or they can choose to rent a film, just like on any other VOD platform using the rental model.

“We have put together a full promotion package which can be used to promote the film online. All the registered Independent Distributors will get full access to our marketing materials including posters, press releases, production stills, interviews, and so much more”
Ricks says. “The marketing package developed together with the produces, PR company, and online marketing consultants, includes everything you really need to promote the film online. This is an opportunity we want to offer for those who are interested in this kind of risk-free opportunity to distribute films worldwide as individuals”, Ricks adds.

Rage: Midsummer's Eve is an American horror film which has gained a lot of media attention because of its original approach to horror: The film is set in the Finnish Arctic Circle during the “white nights” when the sun never sets, during a few weeks in midsummer, so its kind of an opposite to '30 Days of Night'. It tells a story about American and British friends who decide to take up an offer to travel to the Arctic Circle to celebrate an old pagan festival: Midsummer's Eve.
The crew credits of the film include such blockbuster hits as 2 Fast 2 Furious, Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End, Terminator 3, Mimic 2 and The Hangover just to name a few.

The Director of Photography for the film is Lawrence Dolkart whom has previously shot music videos for artists such as Marilyn Manson, Stone Temple Pilots and Jet.

Rage: Midsummer's Eve premieres in Selected Theaters in the USA and on Video On Demand internationally in March 6, 2015.
