First and foremost, [Kingsman: The Secret Service](movie:713143) is a love letter to the spy genre from director Matthew Vaughn. Since it borrows from the genre, one of the elements that makes the genre what it is, is its wonder gadgets. During my conversation with Matthew Vaughn a few months ago, I brought up the idea about spy gadgets and how they work in the movie. He talked about how it was hard to come up with cool gadgets since we all have smartphones and other devices in your pockets these days. His approach to making the movie's gadgets fun was going analog and old school, instead of digital and modern. Here are 4 kick-ass gadgets from Kingsman: The Secret Service.

The Rainmaker

We've seen the umbrella shield in action during the amazing bar fight, but Eggsy puts it to better use in the film's climax. While the umbrella operates as a translucent shield, it also has the ability to kill or stun your foe. It's a very deadly, yet useful, weapon.

Ignite the Night

Although Eggsy thinks the Kingsman cigarette lighter electrocutes someone, it's actually more explosive than he thinks.

The Sharpest Pair

The men's fashion in Kingsman: The Secret Service is one of the best reasons to watch the film and an outfit is not complete with a pair of Oxford formal shoes. Eggsy is drawn to the brogues style, which features a hidden mini-blade inside of the toe.

Kingsman Pistol

At first blush, a secret spy's pistol seems like an ordinary gun, but at Kingsman, it's actually more than meets the eye. Kingsman pistols have the ability to shoot one shotgun cartridge for close ranges.
