Most people know about the 1974 DeFeo murders in Amityville, NY. when Ronald DeFeo shot his entire family while they slept, which spawned a Hollywood movie and several sequels.

What most people don't know is that a more gruesome murder took place the following year in Hamilton, Ohio on Easter Sunday in 1975.

Forty year old James Ruppert came downstairs, armed with a .357 Magnum, two .22 caliber handguns and a shotgun and shot his 11 family members in broad daylight.

The victims were his mother, brother, sister in law, and their 8 children. The murders happened in the living room and kitchen. Ruppert managed to do this in a matter of minutes.
