In the past decade, Painkiller Jane, perhaps comic book legend Jimmy Palmiotti's most popular co-creation, has starred in two live0action adaptations - a TV-movie and TV series.
The TV series starred Kristanna Loken ("Bloodrayne") and generated a lot of buzz. However, differences from the source material and some scripts that were considered lackluster helped doom the series to a single season.
However, Palmiotti is confident that the upcoming "Painkiller Jane" will succeed and reach impressive heights - and feels a huge reason to be confident is the directors he has chosen for his passion project - the "Twisted Twins" - Jen and Sylvia Soska.
Jen Soska says she has high hopes for the film, which will feature Jane Vasko, pop culture's most popular super-healing super-heroine - as well.
"We love getting to do what we do. We are the fan directors", says Jen Soska of both twin Sylvia Soska and herself. "I hope our love of film comes across in ever frame."
"We are such fans of Jimmy and his work and Jane that it's a real honor to be working with Jimmy on this film", Jen Soska concludes. "The world could really use a hero like Jane. I hope this film will create a trend of more female super hero films."
"Painkiller Jane" is scheduled to hit theaters in late 2015 or early 2016.
