Good news, Evil Dead fans - we now know who will be fighting alongside Bruce Campbell's Ash in his battle against the Deadites in the new spin-off TV show Ash vs Evil Dead!
Two new, if perhaps unfamiliar, faces have joined the cast of the upcoming 10-episode horror series based on Sam Raimi's Evil Dead film franchise.
As we know already, long-time series star Bruce Campbell is back as Ash. But now, Deadline have reported that Ray Santiago (known for roles in Raising Hope and Dexter) and Dana DeLorenzo of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, have joined the cast.
According to the report, Santiago will play "Pablo Simon Bolivar" - an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick. The name is perhaps a nod to Venezuelan national hero and military commander, Simon Bolivar, who is heralded for fighting against Spanish imperialists in Latin American in the early 1800s. Pablo believes in Ash’s heroism even if Ash himself no longer does.
DeLorenzo is said to be playing a character named Kelly Maxwell. Kelly is apparently a moody wild child trying to escape her dark past. Somewhat reluctantly, she gets dragged into the fight against evil with Ash and Pablo,
