WARNING: Spoilers for The Walking Dead ahead!
When you've got a show as popular as [The Walking Dead](series:201193), there's bound to be endless amounts of amazing fan creations to come out of it. Artist Edward Pun has created a whole series of portraits based on our favorite characters from The Walking Dead. Pun's illustrations are so cool that you could even begin to imagine what an animated Walking Dead TV series could look like, and if i'm being honest with you - it looks pretty damn awesome! I mean it's already a comic series and a live-action TV show, why not a cartoon TV show as well!
Check out Edward's beautiful illustrations below and see if you agree that an animated cartoon series of The Walking Dead would be wicked:
Rick Grimes, what a sick looking puppy. I'm going to say this a lot through this post but holy crap, this looks so much like Andrew Lincoln's version of Rick it's crazy, Edward Pun is one talented guy. The infamous red handled machete, his trademark Colt Python, his bandaged hand and his smoothed back long hair are all amazingly accurate, but it's that Rick Grimes scowl that makes it complete.
Could you imagine how cool it would be to see an animated cartoon Michonne spinning around and slicing off the heads of any walker who dare cross her path?! That face means business, no walker will be left unsliced.
Tyreese and Judith
Well firstly, RIP Tyreese. Gone too soon.
But aside from that cartoon Tyreese, and cute little cartoon Judith make a pretty cool duo. Judith's biggest protector looks like he could take on anyone threatening his Lil Ass Kicker, and with that hammer waiting at his side you'd be damn sure they would be coming out second best.
Glenn and Maggie
TV's best couple, (and Edward Pun's favorite TV couple) Glenn Rhee and Maggie Greene are a forced to be reckoned with! Maggies combat boots wouldn't hesitant to stomp on a few walker heads and by now we all know Glenn is only growing in awesomeness every season.
That scowl and his face are perfect (and the long Daryl Dixon side-swept bangs as well). Just like Michonne, I think seeing Daryl's crossbow in animated action would be pretty awesome, especially seeing as he's not a character in the comic series, so it's something we've missed out on seeing in comic form.
Despite the worried look on her face, cartoon Carol looks like she's ready for action! If there were to be an animated series, and it were to start from the early days of the break out, it would really be something to see Carol's progression from meek background character to bad-ass cartoon ass kicker!
That face and those eyes are the look of a kid who may look like a fun cartoon character but actually means business! Carrying the biggest gun of the lot, you know that Carl Poppa isn't messing.
I almost left this one out because I know a lot of you are still mourning her death, but if there was any sort of cartoon series of The Walking Dead it would seem empty without the dulcet tones of Beth Greene. I love this cartoon version of her, with her bright blonde hair and blue eyes, it's spot on!
