If you're an admirer of artistic talent and an eye for the creepy, look no further than this fantastically unnerving artwork by Nikolai Lockertsen.

The image, titled Candyshop, may not reveal all of its horrors at first glance...

Through clever use of light, color, shape and tricks of the eye, Lockertsen subtly makes you look at the image the way he wants you to - slowly increasing the feeling of unease as you notice the more grisly details...

First off, your eyes are drawn to these creatures.

The static grin of the monkey and horrible rictus-faced pig are definitely on the uncanny side of what should be in a shop for kids...

Then you notice something worse...

The shopkeeper has poison in his hand, and there are syringes and a knife below the counter. Coupled with this, his gaze burns directly into the child ahead.

Then it gets more terrible still!

In the edge of the frame, we see a freshly dead (or at least unconscious) child on the floor, and two apparently naked kids in jars in a back room.

Did you notice everything in the picture immediately?
