We've already done a Time Flies of the cast of Matilda, so for the most part we know what they've been up to for the last few years. But, like all good stars of the '90s do, a pair some members of the cast are still friends nearly 20 years later.
We're not talking about Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman who have been together for over 30 years.
Nope! This time it's Mara Wilson and Kiama Davael, the two cute young rebels who played Matilda and Lavender, respectively.
While they're not walking the halls of Crunchem Hall, getting sent to the chokey or cheering on Bruce anymore, these two still seem to find time for one another in their lives.
This isn't the first time the cast of Matilda has reunited. In honor of Matilda's special edition blu-ray release in 2013, the whole cast got back together to spend the day reminiscing and taking silly photos.
Both actresses left show business years ago. Mara (27) graduated from New York University and has no current plans to return to acting. She also wrote a piece for Cracked titled "7 Reasons Child Stars Go Crazy (An Insider's Perspective)," discussing the trouble that comes with being a child star. She also said back in 2012 to Us Magazine:
Film acting is not very fun. Doing the same thing over and over again until, in the director's eyes, you 'get it right', does not allow for very much creative freedom. The best times I had on film sets were the times the director let me express myself, but those were rare.
Kiami Davael had a few acting roles following the success of Matilda, but like Wilson, turned her attention to her studies instead. Davael graduated from University of Kentucky in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
Even though these two have grown and gone on to more adult activities than putting newts in peoples' water cups, it's great to see that they're still so close.
Can you believe that it's been nearly 20 years since the film was originally released? I'm glad to see that these two still have such a close relationship all these years later!
