I celebrate every Friday the 13th by watching all 12 Friday the 13th films. It helps me cope with the overwhelming excitement I have for the new Friday the 13th film. So since I've been thinking about Friday the 13th so much lately, I decided to make a "top 5 Friday the 13th films" list. Let's get started!

5. Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993)

This is one of the lesser liked Friday the 13th films but I still really enjoy it. The biggest problem people seem to have with it is that there is very little Jason in the film. He basically get blown to pieces by these SWAT team guys in the first five minutes. Then through most of the film it's Jason ghost possessing people and making them kill. I know it sounds pretty stupid and it is pretty stupid but somehow still enjoyable. At least for me. Plus it has a great teaser ending.

4. Friday the 13th (1980)

This first installment in the series is one of the best slasher films ever made. As any fans know this one doesn't feature Jason as the killer. Instead we have his mother played by Betsy Palmer as the killer. She kills the camp counselors to avenge her sons death, which she blames on the counselors who were having sex instead of watching him at the time he drown. Anyway, she plays an excellent psycho and really makes the film. Plus that ending got me good the first time I watched it.

3. Friday the 13th part 5: A New Beginning (1985)

This is probably the most hated of all Friday the 13th films but I think it's one of the best. It has some pretty funny characters and is over all a fun watch. The next part is a spoiler so if you haven't seen this film and wish to, just skip to the next one.

So the main problem people have with this film is that at the end you find out that the killer wasn't really Jason and that it was this EMT named Roy Burns. And at the end Tommy Jarvis is set up to be the killer in the next film. But fans were angry it wasn't Jason so for the next film they brought Jason back from the dead. Although I am glad they brought Jason back, I always have to wonder what could have been if they had stuck with Tommy being the killer.

2. Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982)

This is the first film to have Jason as we know him. It's the first film to have Jason wear a hockey mask. Before that he had some weird potato sack with one eye hole cut out. The plot for this one is pretty bland but the movie is still fun. Plus it is in 3D which makes a lot of the kill scenes more fun. It also has the lovable prankster Shelly Finkelstein, who is my favorite character in the film. Apart from Jason of course. If you haven't seen this one it's definitely worth checking out.

1. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

This one is hands down the BEST Friday the 13th film of all! It has the best cast, best characters, and best kill scenes with the best gore. Tom Savini did magic with the effects in this. You can see a couple of the best kills below.

Jimmy's Death

And it brought us the awesome dance moves of Crispen Glover!

This is just over all the most fun of all of the Friday the 13th films. I can watch it again and again and encourage you to do the same if you haven't.

Well that was another short list. Let me know what you think below.
