Okay so you know that amazing "Oscar Race" that we all tune into? You know how they throw all these movies into one big pot, and we are forced to throw parties, set up polls, and debate and lose friends over our opinions about who deserves that coveted gold man? I am here to say look no further, because Whiplash, is the film that deserves it!, i mean honestly i was pulling for Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Birman" for a solid six weeks at least until i saw this little underdog gem. it was made for, 3.4 million! thats a feet in todays standard, and in my eyes, it killed its competition. when i see a movie, and then consider it for best picture i break it down, performance, music, editing, cinematography. and i think thats what should be done. Miles Teller did 90% of the drumming, and it is way more believable than Clint Eastwood's infant in "American Sniper" And Lets not even get me started on J.K. Simmons' portrayal of Terence Fletcher, the movies antagonist, bully, manipulator, and inspiration. this is a drama that gives you an adrenalin rush like no other drama can, with fantastic editing, and the soundtrack is impeccable. All I have to say is, its sad that "Whiplash" is the underdog, when it's clearly the big dog.
