With a Suicide Squad in The CW's Arrow and Warner Bros. moving forward with a Suicide Squad movie, DC Comics is changing up their current line-up.
First appearing in Brave And The Bold: Volume 1 #25, the Suicide Squad debuted over 55 years ago and currently contains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Joker’s Daughter, Black Manta, and Death Stroke, lead by Amanda Waller.
Starting from The New Suicide Squad #9, released in April, the team will change and introduce some new villains into the squad.
The team will include:
PARASITE from Superman
Feeds of energy from living creatures, absorbing it into his body and turning his victims into husks.
CHEETAH from Wonder Woman
Cutting herself on a dagger that once belonged to a lost tribe of Amazons, she was possessed by the Goddess of the Hunt, turning her into a half-cheetah, half-woman hybrid.
BLACK HAND from Green Lantern
Carries around a Power Road that drains energy sources but has been altered to drain life forces.
POISON IVY from Batman
Has the ability to control plants.
TALON from Batman
An undead, lethal assassin for the Court of Owls.
THE REVERSE FLASH from The Flash
Can move at a rate of acceleration and maximum speed in excess to that of normal humans.
It is possible that the change in line-up, by introducing bigger and more well known villains to the Squad, is to get a bigger name for themselves ahead of the future movie.
The Reverse Flash was introduced into the Squad in issue #5 and the rest of the new team will assemble from Suicide Squad #9, released this April.
