So last time we had some fun with these weird, interesting and funny movie facts. But it was the tip of the iceberg.
Lets do five more shall we?
1. Well, it's one better, isn't it?
Here is our first fact of today. There is one movie in the Internet Movie DataBase that has an 11 star rating instead of the normal 10. This movie is the cult classic This is Spinal Tap.
Technically more a Easter Egg than a fact, but still pretty awesome I feel. A clever and nice nod to the film. On an other note when Ozzy Osbourne first saw the flick he thought it was real.
2. R6D4 just doesn’t have the same ring to it
In the editing room before digital filming, all the rolls of film are split up in Reels and Dialogs. So if editors needed a curtain scene they would ask for example for Reel 6 and Dialog 4. To speed this up most editors only said R for reel and D for Dialog.
While editing American Graffiti, George Lucas' co-worker asked for Reel 2, Dialog 2 or as he said it, “R2D2.” Lucas liked the sound of it and used it as a name in another project he was developing. Can you guess which one that was?
3. Leaving an impression
Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter only appears on screen for 24 minutes and 52 seconds in Silence of the Lambs. If it that isn’t a fun fact enough, while only appearing for a runtime just under 25 minutes, he won the Oscar for Best Actor In a Leading Role. Also, Silence of the Lambs is the only horror film to ever win an Oscar for Best Picture, with Jaws and The Exorcist being the only other two horror films to ever be nominated for Best Picture.
So you see that you can leave quite an impression with little time. To give you another example without all the Oscar-buzz around it. Darth Vader inA New Hope
only has a screen time of twelve minutes! Felt like more didn't it. But I think I can even amaze you more.
The most famous dinosaur movie of all time? Jurassic Park, of course. The movie clocks in at 127 minute, dinosaurs can only be seen for 15 minutes of that time. That is roughly a mere 12% of the runtime.
9. What is your favorite scary painting?
Speaking about leaving an impression...I think most of you guys and gals here know that the mask for Halloween was an inverted, white painted mask of
James T. Kirk. But the iconic mask from Scream finds its origin in art. In a painting what of course is called“ The Scream”. Oh, by the way. Any idea what the working title for Scream was? Scary Movie. In hindsight that is pretty freaking funny. Keeping in the horror-genre; The words "Elm Street" are not said once in A nightmare on Elm Street.
10. Cheesy fact
Just a day after Valentine’s lets get a bit of love in these facts. Well Walt Disney
of course voiced the original Mickey Mouse, soon enough Wayne Allwine
took over. While Wayne was working for Disney het fell in love and later married
Russi Taylor. So congrats to both of them. Funny fact is though that
so happened to be the voice actress who played Minnie Mouse.
And that’s again all I have for you today. Applying the Hollywood formula with enough success you can count on a few more fun facts I absolutely love.
Stay cool and I will catch you on the flip side.
P.S. The tag-system is giving me hell about what I can and can not tag. So sincere apologies for that. For example, for a Post about Facts, I can't tag the word Facts.
