If any fans of Better Call Saul have been wondering exactly whats going on with Saul's (or Jimmy) brother, Chuck McGill (Michael McKean), and why Saul is forced to keep all electronic devices out of the house or ground himself, then you will want to continue reading.
At first I didn't quite understand it. I thought maybe due to the brothers being low on money they were squatting a house, or the more commonly thing though amongst viewers of the show, Chuck is just being paranoid. Well come to find out, what Chuck suffers from is a real thing that the creators of the show were unaware about when writing the character.
Chuck's character suffers from Electromagnetic hypersensitivity. According to doctors and other sources on the internet the reported symptoms of EHS include headache, fatigue, stress, sleep disturbances, skin symptoms like prickling, burning sensations and rashes, pain and ache in muscles and many other health problems. Whatever their cause, EHS symptoms are a real and sometimes disabling problem for the affected person. There is currenlt no scientific basis to link EHS symptoms to electromagnetic field exposure.
The character and how he developed this condition or his cause to believing he has it is still unknown and I trust the writers will explain this. In fact in tomorrow's third episode we will learn a little more.
Hopefully we will get to see how this big part of Jimmy McGills pre-Breaking Bad era plays a part in him becoming trusted corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman.
