Now, with the recent announcement that Sony and Marvel are set to team-up to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's been a whole lot of speculation as to just how and when that'll happen. What hasn't really been up for debate, though, is the question of whether or not it'll be awesome - mainly because of course it will.

That being said, there's still a little, nagging voice in the back of my head warning me to be careful - after all, even Marvel can make mistakes (I mean, suspiciously rarely, but even so), and bringing Spidey into the MCU is one hell of an undertaking. Can we actually be so sure that teaming him up with the Avengers'll be as awesome as we assume?

Well, take a look at this awesome new mash-up from the good folks at Screen Crush, imagining a version of 2012's The Avengers that features Spidey himself, and you tell me...

Yup, that's right. We just watched...

The Avengers Assembling

With Cap wearing his increasingly funny-looking Avengers-era costume...

Before Being Interrupted By...Spider-Man

Along with his Spider-Mega-Phone (patent pending)...

At Which Point He and Black Widow Start Flirting

Presumably making Hawkeye all twitchy and such...

Before Some Seriously Awesome Editing...

Explosion-filled editing, in fact...

...Puts Spidey in the Thick of the Avengers Action

And in Iron Man's sights, strangely...

Right Down to Spidey Saving a Bus

Though you just know J. Jonah Jameson is going to bill him for the damage...

...Which Hawkeye Then Evacuates

All of which adds up to proof - if proof were ever actually needed - that Spider-Man and the Avengers teaming up on screen is going to be ridiculously awesome.

Now, can someone please find me a time machine that goes as far as May 2016, and the release of Captain America: Civil War? Someone? Anyone?

What do you think, though? Are Spider-Man and The Avengers destined to be awesome on screen together? I want to know what you think...
