Where there is a will there is a way, We have all had brain adventures since Spider-Man was brought over to the MCU due to the recent team-up of Marvel and sony.
But, are we forgeting the other remaining universe?
That's right the X-Men & Fantastic Four worlds. Fox retains the movie making rights to these to comic book properties, which has been a huge topic for quite some time since 2013’s “The Wolverine”. However, last year’s [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) & the announcement of Fox’s 2015 Fantastic Four reboot has drawn a series of issues between fox and marvel. It’s no secret that Bryan Singer’s idea to choose quicksilver instead of Matthew Vaughn's younger juggernaut for the Magento breakout scene (which was awesome with Quicksilver sorry Matt) wasn't a big enough jab at marvel, Fox decided to make a new Fantastic Four movie, which was like a Dikembe Mutombo block on [Marvel](channel:932254)’s hopes to go to the hole, score, and retain the rights to it’s first superhero team.
Marvel’s obvious reaction was in there comics universe. Marvel stopped the production of anything Fantastic Four related, then they killed off Wolverine, next was revealing Quicksilver & Scarlet witch were not Magneto’s kids after all, and soon the X-Men could possibly cease to exist anywhere but in the the movies that fox produces.
What does Fox do?
Fox comes back with the announcements of X-Men:Apocalypse, Deadpool, a 2017 wolverine sequel, Gambit, X-force, Fantastic Four 2, & a possible untitled X-Men TV series (which will likely be X-Factor Investigations) this shows us that fox is buckled down in the driving seat of making X-Men & Fantastic Four movies for a while.
So what does marvel do now?
I agree with most everyone out there, Marvel Studios does not need the two iconic hero franchises to keep their Cinematic powerhouse going.
But, They need to seriously consider two big things.
First, Marvel. Seriously, rebooting the comics doesn’t exempt the removal of the X-Men & Fantastic Four from the comics and saddens ol X-heads and Fantastic Four hopefuls like myself who love to read about those characters inside the same Marvel universe as Iron Man & Hulk.
Second, Fox needs to learn from sony and work with Marvel to authorize the X-TV Series. However it's not like Fox is in as much of a hole like Sony was with there superhero franchise. Actually, Fox is in a revival of sorts due to the large success of X-Men: Days of future past. Now they have a successful X-Verse to build upon which means giving Marvel some inclusion rights for there properties could be something to shy away from.
But, what If Marvel were to side with the Fox and help them produce the X-TV series, then what would Marvel receive in return?
Ability to use X-characters & Fantastic Four characters in the MCU.
If Marvel Studios and Fox can sit down and have some hugs! We may see what happened with the Sony Spider-Man franchise, happen with our X-Verse & Fantastic Four Universe.
So here is my top 10 on how to include Fox's X-Men/Fantastic Four universe inside the MCU.
10. Take advantage of Days of future past.
X-Men: days of future past is no joke, it was a good movie and brought clarity to fox’s x-movies by re-writing the timeline and establishing that the x-men will come together differently and will set different occurrences, like wolverine’s origin & the introduction to quicksilver. Mutants were publicly scene on a large scale as well. Also Bolivar Trask survives, the outcome. This sets up alot to play from if the two universes are intertwined ultimately.
9. Wolverine and department H
Yes we saw team-x and all that crap in wolverine:origins, we know his affiliation with that team is now up-for grabs as the X-men universe push's forward with time-travel success. Days of future past's outcome is re-writing our beloved Wolvie's history (great time to mesh marvel & fox).
But, how? How could Logan have a wetting with our current marvel cinematic characters in the 70s and 80s?
Ant-man will have some tie-ins to the 1970s-1980’s and other marvel characters alive then like Howard Stark, Nick Fury, Peggy Carter, & the winter soldier could make for an interesting plot for a Wolverine cameo somewhere. For example, want if the studios could use Department H as Canada’s division of shield (which Fury had an underground bunker in Canada on the Agents of Shield TV series) and made their brainwashed assassin Logan. Who is discovered after being a horseman to Apocalypse and left to dead after a huge battle with the X-Men and his brother Victor Creed. Creed takes Logan to Fury and he is kept brainwashed until Xavier finds him in the later 2000’s after he is sent after the Hulk (remember banner went to canada before we saw him in calcutta in the avengers).
This would reveal his brain waves in a violent way that Xavier could detect him and rescue him from the Hulk resulting in an encounter with Nick Fury. Reuniting him with the X-Men and the brainwashing giving him his memory issues as well, so he'll need Xavier. This is a much more believable ploy than an adamantium bullet.
8. The Quickpoint....uhh paradox?
Ive got it! Evan Peters’s Quicksilver can be the reverse Quicksilver! & Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver can be uhhh an inhuman? No it’s a complex issue here, and could be the one event that keeps the universe’s apart honestly. But, I have a hypothesis. It’s no secret that the Twins Pietro & Wanda Maximoff in the marvel universe are gaining there powers from being exposed to the mind stone inside of Loki’s staff and presumed to have inhuman heritage.
So how does this work? Well, Peter Maximoff (Evan Peters) was never called Pietro nor was he called Quicksilver in the movie. He was given the title of Quicksilver only with the movie info media. So How do the twins exist with the X-verse Quicksilver? Well how about ol' Peter Maximoff is the twins father, then their mother is an inhuman, and Magneto their grandfather.
How would this work ? Well, the little girl in X-Men DOFP sitting on Peter Maximoff’s lap is not his twin obviously and is younger and can be forgotten, also their mother is easily not eastern european. So in the battle between the X-Men and apocalypse Peter turns down Xavier’s offer to join the X-Men and stays with his dad Magneto as they travel to Europe to investigate “Mutants” but they find “Inhumans” instead. Resulting in Magneto’s departure and Peter staying, falling in love, and starting a family.
This would mean that, Peter & his inhuman wife get married and have children in 1988-89 ish which are Pietro & Wanda. Unfortunately, Peter is murdered by an inhuman who saw the couples marriage as an “abomination”. This would create a huge back-story for the twins and could possibly give them a huge bridge in the X-Men films & MCU.
Or you could just not tie the twins to him at all, and forget Evan Peters’s Quicksilver existed.
7: Nick Fury & Charles Xavier’s Relationship
It’s apparent that if the Fox & Marvel mesh would happen, these two iconic figures would need to have a backstory. Especially because Fury would be one of the only people in the world with knowledge of the X-Men’s and mutantkind's involvement in history. Why? Obviously the relationship would be rocky due to the fact that Fury would be involved in a exchange for Logan’s freedom from Shield Control ( Scroll up and see #9)
Xavier would have to Agree to wipe the world of the knowledge of mutants & the X-Men. A big decision right? Yep, well Charles owe’s Logan, well future Logan, who helped him in such a dark time in his life. So he decides to go through with it. This would leave the X-Men as an emergency punch card for Fury in time of crisis (Infinity war).
6: Jean Grey/ Phoenix
The Phoenix saga needs to be done well. X3's horrid eye gouging take on it was a massacre of a great comic story arc. However, with marvel at fox’s side and with Singer in the director’s chair, this could be an awesome movie.
Taking place in the timeline slot where X2 & X3 existed (Mid-2002-2006) the X-Men are put against the odds when the Phoenix Force inhabits Jean Grey's body. Taking it back to its cosmic roots! Sending the X-Men to space and creating a shiar/Starjammers atmosphere. This would explain their location during the New york invasion, and the MCU events we’ve seen in Phase 2.
Think about it, The X-Men go to space shortly after Xavier recruits Logan from Fury (See #9 & #7) to stop Magneto from destroying Dr. Henry Corbeau's peace mission to Magneto's Asteroid M in which Nick Fury enforced Erik to go there. Resulting into one of the most grueling ordeals that took a few years to complete and when they return to earth they find all these superheroes fighting Thanos? Talk about the calvary.
5: Fantastic 4 Time
Now here’s one of the biggies! The addition of the Fantastic Four releases alot back to Marvel.
So how does the franchise do that exactly? Well if Marvel/Fox can do something similar to Marvel/Sony's deal it will widen things especially on the cosmic side. This means the MCU can not only get the Fantastic Four they can have characters like the Skrulls, Galactus, and the Silver Surfer.
Although im assuming according to articles ive read that in the new 2015 reboot movie. These younger versions of the F4 open a portal to the negative zone and embark on an adventure of epic proportions. This could lead to an appearance all Fury-like by Phil Coulson (acting director of SHEILD in the MCU) to recruit the group. Possibly to help with the Inhumans or vs Thanos.
All in all if the movie is good, it wont be hard to add the Fantastic Four to the MCU especially since we don't really have a younger team in the MCU, yes they have Spidey now as a teenager. But, a college aged Fantastic Four & a crazy developing Doom just sounds great to me.
4: Captain America and Wolverine
Some of the best team-up stories in marvel comics involve these two. Cap and Logan worked together in World War II. So Marvel/Fox why not have a little fun and make a Marvel/Fox one shot with Jackman & Evans taking down some Hydra scum in the 40’s.
You know if nothing else happens between Marvel and Fox, I hope that they would fins a way to make this one shot. It would be nice to see some bone claw/40’s Cap stealth. This also could make great character history with the two if Especially if the X-Men come to the infinity war then Logan can’t remember Rogers, but Rogers does. In fact how about when the X-Men return from space ( see #6) ,Rogers whose presumed dead after Cap 3 is sitting in the X-Mansion looking for Logan! wow! That would be cool.
3. Solidify the X-team
There are so many mutants, and it would ruin this fictional merge of the Universes if a army of mutants suddenly appear. So to be fair like the picture above I nominate Xavier, Wolverine, Gambit (Banshee's Replacement), Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast( Nightcrawler's replacement as much as it pains me), & Magneto with Mystique (sorry Colossus & Kitty Pryde) Id like to see Magneto get a crack at Thanos.
With a separate appearance of Deadpool of course.
2. The When do the X-Men and F4 appear in the MCU?
Well if you havn’t noticed from the previous. I would like to the two teams show up in Infinity war Part 1 or Part 2. Because thats when every superhero on the face of the Cinematic screen goes at Thanos. So the Fantastic Four should come in Infinity war part 1 as a scientific help and then both teams of X-Men & F4 show up with a back from the dead Cap (see #4) to aid in the big battle scene.
A Couple of action shots for all the characters all and the major acting going to Jackman, Stewart, and some strange/funny scenes with Ryan Reynolds. Just imagine it! The Avengers, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Inhumans (I think) Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, & Iron Fist w/ The Fantastic 4 & The X-Men.
1: Wolverine Joins the Avengers
This could set-up a major addition to the Avengers squad, we have all wanted to see it and it would have to happen! So, obviously Logan makes a big play in Infinity war and is invited for membership by Tony Stark! Yes you would think of Cap doing it, but in the comics Stark pushes for Logan to join earths mightiest heroes when they form a new group of avengers which also included Luke Cage, Spider-Man, & Spider-woman (Jessica Drew).
Hugh Jackman could reprise his roll and make his mark playing Logan for 20 years long, or the role could get recast, but i think Jackman would jump at the chance to be in a marvel movie.
Again this is my view point on how to mesh the universe’s together, remember the upcoming Fox and marvel productions could make probabilities different. Depending on how our favorite hero stories are told, this top 10 could be a decent integration.
