The fact is both E.T. and Star Wars are classics. So what would you say if I told you there was crossover between the two? Well, thanks to a fan of both movies, TheWhoDoc, we have a little breakdown of how E.T. is a part of the Star Wars universe - and that he's actually a Jedi! Flying bikes? Yeah, that's The Force.

Now, let me back up really quickly. Even if this isn't necessarily true, the implications for this are very cool. We know that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have played around with references to each other's movies. Star Wars originally came out in 1977 and had huge success, obviously. 5 years later, E.T. made his way onto our screens.

There are a couple of examples of Spielberg giving a wink and a nod about Star Wars.

For example, in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark Spielberg sneaks in an R2D2 and C-3PO reference:

R2D2 and 3CPO
R2D2 and 3CPO

Also, in Temple of Doom, the bar is called Club Obi Wan:

So, I mean check this out:

It all starts with Yoda

There are E.T. creatures in the senate chamber

This is where it gets interesting

That boy has Star Wars action figures

The Halloween encounter

E.T. can harness The Force because... duh, he's a Jedi

So, are you convinced?

Is E.T. a Jedi?
