As fans of the series are well aware, Kingdom Hearts has a long, confusing and pretty cumbersome narrative that has been woven throughout its numerical entries as well as its randomly titled portable editions. For newcomers to the series, it can be pretty confusing to realise that the games that were released on handheld devices, such as Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, are actually a part of the canon.
There are those that are looking to join in on the adventure of KH and are interested in playing Kingdom Hearts 3, but are intimidated by the presence of the Kingdom Hearts HD Remix games 1.5 and 2.5. Therefore, should Square Enix make an accessible and comprehensive movie to come with Kingdom Hearts 3 on its release date for the Xbox One and PS4?
Kingdom Hearts 3 - Square Enix Plot Movie
It's happening with a lot of games as of late. Publishers and developers are looking for the latest instalments in franchises that have spawned over decades to generate a new audience. Final Fantasy 15 is a perfect example of this as it looks to draw in a whole new community to join in its expansive open world adventure.
But hopping into a game with the number 15 at the end of it can be extremely discouraging for gamers that are looking for a new experience and like what they're seeing in the trailers. Going back and playing the entire history of Final Fantasy would take a lot of work and some serious devotion to the cause.
But then, Final Fantasy XV is not going to rely upon a narrative as a central element to experiencing the game in the way that Kingdom Hearts 3 will. So I'd personally love to see Square Enix make a movie out of the Kingdom Hearts games like they did with the likes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in the HD Remix.
It'd be wonderful to sit down to a movie of the Kingdom Hearts games before delving into Kingdom Hearts 3, and I'd gladly have it go on for an hour or more before I jump into the title. Walkthroughs online and timeline explanations can be tedious and difficult to get into. But with Square Enix directing the movie, it could be a great opportunity to pull us into the KH world and atmosphere before taking control of Sora again, especially for new players.
So what do you think KH3 fans? Should Kingdom Hearts 3 have an in-game movie made by Square Enix come with the game on its release date for the Xbox One and PS4? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
