Alright, to start off, let me just say that I am a fan of the X-men movies we have, but there is so much unused potential, and misuse of characters, so here it goes.

Earth's Mightiest
Earth's Mightiest

First of all, i'm going to compare the success of the Avengers, to the X-Men. Simply because they are both Marvel Teams. The Avengers has many things going for it, among those being good character interaction, humor, and most importantly in my opinion, a pretty equal showcase of all of the characters and their powers. This is huge. Because of these reasons The Avengers went on to become the third highest grossing movies of all time. Now imagine if Marvel Studios had handled The Avengers the way Fox has handled The X-Men. The movie would mostly focus on Iron Man, simply because he is arguably (or was at the time the Avengers came out) the most popular Avenger. We would get to see his character develop, his love interests, his powers, and basically every other Avenger would be a side note with small parts here and there.

Is this sounding familiar to you? Because it sure as hell should. This is exactly how the X-Men trilogy was handled. Wolverine being the focus of the entire show, with flashbacks to his past, and the other characters simply being supporting. This greatly angers me! Can you imagine if we got an X-Men film comparable to The Avengers? Cyclops would be the awesome leader showcasing his tactical skills as well as amazing optic blasts! Bringing me to my next point...

The most misused character in modern cinema!

Cyclops! This is the leader of the X-Men. With his tactician skills alone he is formidable, but combined with his optic blasts he is astonishing! (See what I did there?) In the movies all we got to see was a whiny loser whose only purpose, was to be an obstacle for Wolverine's love life. His only purpose. Talk about horrific. That's like if in the Avengers film all Captain America did was whine, not plan anything, and be involved in some love triangle with Iron Man. That would suck and after Winter Soldier came out, we all got to see how truly awesome the character of Captain America is. We have never gotten to see that with Cyclops! He is by far the most misused character of all time in my opinion, and I would love to see his true character shown in the next X-Men film. I'm pretty sure he fired about three optic blasts in the entire x-men franchise. Talk about a misuse of visuals as well. At least give him better action! Please Fox I beg of you!

Man of Steel... or Iron... or some kind of metal...

Besides Cyclops there are many misused X-Men. One that comes to mind immediately is Colossus. His mutation makes him one of the strongest X-Men out there, and yet all we've seen him do is carry kids to safety in X2, and get killed multiple times by the future Sentinels in Days of Future Past. Give me a break! He could bring incredible action sequences to the film, and not to mention his romance with Kitty Pryde which they barely brushed on at the end of DOFP.

Another is Rogue. Can you imagine her flying around and punching people with her super strength? Probably not because all we've seen her do in the movies is suck Wolverine's healing factor to heal herself, and kiss boys nearly killing them. Wow just wow. Incredible character, incredible waste in the Movies.

All i'm saying is the X-Men is an incredible property, full of some of the best stories, characters, and action! Get it in your heads Fox, you have comic gold lying around with the diversity of the X-Men, and amazing powers, there could be a film capitalizing on that. But instead we get Wolverine movies featuring a couple members of the X-Men. Don't get me wrong, I love Wolverine, but I also love Cyclops, Gambit, Colossus, Rogue, Storm, and basically all of the other characters. So please give us an X-Men movie for once! Not just another Wolverine movie.

What do you guys think? Would this be a good plan for the next X-Men movie?
