In case you all weren't aware, Daniel Cudmore is no longer going to be our Colossus. Which means a new actor is stepping up. But, who can fill in for Cudmore?
He stood at 6'8". Which is kind of needed for Colossus. He's supposed to be larger than life. It's especially needed now being that Ryan Reynolds is 6'2". Whoever's playing Colossus next needs to be huge or have the ability to dwarf everyone else on set. So I have three actors that (almost) have the height and (definitely) have the acting ability to portray our new mutant Colossus.
1. Joe Manganiello
He's 6'5". I know that's not the same as 6'8" and might not really dwarf everyone on set, but it's not too far off.
He was in What to Expect When You're Expecting, How I Met Your Mother, and Magic Mike.
Well, none of them were exactly serious roles, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have the potential. He's definitely big enough and almost tall enough to pull it off. And though it seems nearly impossible to do anymore of it, if he bulks up more he'll definitely look larger than he actually is.
2. Alexander Skarsgard
Also another actor who is a little on the short side to play Colossal. Skarsgard stands at 6'4". Unlike Manganiello, however, he isn't as bulky yet. But he's got the time to bulk up.
Skarsgard has appeared in True Blood, The Giver, and The East.
Now, I'm not too familiar with any of his performances, but I know how successful True Blood is. He portrayed Eric Northman who was a major character of the show's seven seasons.
3. Derek Theler
Theler comes in at 6'5" and, like Manganiello, just needs a little more bulking up to truly look overpowering.
He's best known for his portrayal of Danny Wheeler in Baby Daddy on ABC Family.
He's an actor who doesn't have a lot under his belt to make him a household name (yet). But he has plenty of experience and could do Colossus some good.
Personally, I think Daniel Cudmore should still be Colossus. I mean, look at him! That was some pretty spot on casting the first time around. Why mess it up? But alas, he is no longer with us in the x-men universe. So of the three I mentioned above, I think Manganiello would be the best fit. But what about you guys? What do you think?
