Whoopi Goldberg has been cast in ABC's comedy pilot Delores & Jermaine.

Aside from being a co-host on ABC's The View, Whoopi Goldberg has signed herself up for second TV job.

Goldberg will star in the multi-cam comedy Delores & Jermaine, which is based on real life events of comedian Jermaine Fowler, who will play himself as a guy with great ideas but little drive, who moves in with his estranged grandmother (Goldberg), a strict former D.C. cop, who loves her football and who needs Jermaine's youthful enthusiasm in her life, like he needs her old-school parenting.

Production on the pilot, and the series if it gets picked up, will take place in New York City and will work around Goldberg’s View schedule.

This will be Goldberg's first full time return to scripted TV since her role on Whoopi, which ended a decade ago in 2004.

Whoopi has also appeared on Glee, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and 30 Rock. Aside from TV, Goldberg was most recently seen in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Girl Interrupted, Rat Race, Ghost and of course some of her best work...

[Author's Note: I am most definitely interested in watching this show. I've loved Whoopi Goldberg since I was a kid and she would have to be one of my Top 5 people I would love to meet!]
