They Came from Beyond Space, 1967

When aliens come to England the invasion goes a little differently.

Let's talk about false advertising. The poster for this film features a buxum blonde in skin tight black lycra sporting a lazer gun. While the tagline reads...

"Conquerors from a dying world invade earth!"

What we actually get is a drably dressed middle aged red head... who isn't even alien! She's little more than a possessed science assistant. The actaul alien as little more than old men dressed in silver capes. The lazer guns you think might be used for the invasion don't show up till near the end and used for point rather than using. There is not even an invasion, the aliens don't go beyond the small farm in Cornwall and left up to their own devices would probably cause very little harm.

Director: Freddie Francis

Writers: Joseph Millard (novel), Milton Subotsky

Stars: Robert Hutton, Jennifer Jayne, Zia Mohyeddin

Trivia: The production came after Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. and used many of the sets and props from the former film as a cost cutting measure.
