The Walking Dead may be the best loved zombie show of all time, but that didn't stop Evil Dead legend Bruce Campbell from taking a huge dump on the franchise!

Campbell - who played zombie-slayin' icon Ash in all three original Evil Dead movies - told Dread Central that he's confident that his upcoming Evil Dead TV show, Ash vs. Evil Dead, will be considerably more badass than TWD:

We are competitive with ‘The Walking Dead,’ like, ‘We’ll show those f**kers!’ [Our] Deadites are very clever.

They're not stupid shufflers. They can mimic people; they can drive cars. They’re a fun threat. They [‘The Walking Dead’] are right up there [though] with being responsible for the current resurgence [of horror].

I gotta say I agree - and I like that Bruce is keeping good-humored about it, acknowledging The Walking Dead's influence on the genre that he helped popularize.

I mean, the Walking Dead zombies are scarier in that they're more realistic, but the Evil Dead zombies have much greater powers and capabilities. I have enormous respect for both franchises and love that they bring totally different things to the zombie horror genre...

Still, who would win in a fight between Ash and Rick?

Maybe you wanna check out the new Evil Dead TV show before answering that question - there's no release date as yet, but Campbell promises lots of goodies, saying that the creators are 'planning for five seasons'... watch this space, zombie lovers!
