"I'm going to leave you as you left me" — is a reference to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

It seems DC is really pulling out the stops this February, with The Flash sizing up to create an interesting series finale, we see Oliver Queen in one of the most interesting episodes yet.

We see Ollie & Thea sent to Lian Yu by Merlyn for the purpose of training. Upon arriving they find that Slade has been let loose by Malcolm. This is an attempt to have Ollie regain his 'killer instinct.'

Ollie is Kirk. Slade is Khan. Shado is the dear, departed Marla McGivers. Malcolm Merlyn is the ear worm that forces people to kill. The ARGUS prison that Slade temporarily locks Thea and Ollie up in is Ceti Alpha V. And Thea is the damaged warp drive, because when she finds out that Merlyn made her kill Sara, she pretty much melts his face off - Source

After a lengthy back and forward between the flashbacks of Tommy's party scene and the fight on Lian Yu, we get to some interesting story points.

Thea knows that Merlyn drugged her and had her kill Sara Lance, Ollie tries his best to console her and then...

Slade Is Back! We've Missed Him!

Deathstroke takes on the duo

A great scene between the Green Arrow, Deathstroke & Speedy, we finally get to see the brother and sister duo work well together in combat.

Slade compliments Thea on 'coming along way' since he last saw her. It would appear years in solitude have not dampened Slade's spirits for killing everyone Oliver Queen loves...

However, the fight ends with this...

You are not a killer!
You are not a killer!

Stopping Thea from becoming the killer that Malcolm Merlyn is, Oliver reminds her that she didn't have a choice with Sara. It was not within her control, but killing Slade is her own choice. With rage inside her, staring at the man who killed her mother... She fires.

She misses Slade and gives him only a flesh wound, locking him back into the ARGUS prison. Slade confides in Oliver that Thea has a dark look in her eyes, one that Meryln put there.

Before leaving Slade makes a quip about Felicity, does he know the truth about Ollie's feelings? Or is he trying to take a blind stab in the dark?

Knowing Deathstroke... it's probably the former.

Lets go back..

"That disguise wouldn't work even if you smeared grease paint on your face"

A great little dig at the Arrow's starting attire, we are just experiencing a show full of them tonight! Maseo is full of surprises.

This episode reveals the first time that Oliver ever laid eyes on Felicity Smoak so we know that he had his eyes set on her before returning as the Emerald Archer.

We get to see Tommy again, with a sharp haircut and giving some brotherly protection to Thea in Oliver's absence, it is great to see Colin Donnell back on the show, even if it was just for a few scenes.

Detective Lance

Getting told off.
Getting told off.

The final scene between Laurel & Detective Lance was great, a true show of his feelings and the impact that losing his daughter twice and then having his only remaining daughter lie to him... he is torn apart.

"You and I. We had a trust. And a bond ... How could you do that to us?”

I feel the scene was ruined with this line

“You knew my life was always headed toward the mask.” ... I'm sorry, what? I don't think it was... I think the producers really wanted to get that line into the show, but it just didn't work and disrupted the real, down-to-earth flow that scene had.
