Marvel has announced that they have added three actors to the cast of A.K.A. Jessica Jones, coming soon to Netflix.
Eka Darville will play Malcolm, Jessica’s neighbour whose own journey will intertwine with her quest in a surprising way. Darville has previously appeared on The Originals, Spartacus: War of the Damned, Power Rangers R.P.M. and can currently be seen in Empire.
Erin Moriarty has joined the cast as Hope, a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations. Moriarty has appeared in Red Widow, True Detective and The Kings of Summer.
Wil Traval signed on to play an at the moment unnamed NYPD cop who takes “protect and serve” very seriously. Traval's previous credits include Red Widow, Once Upon A Time and All Saints.
A.K.A. Jessica Jones is the story of Jessica Jones (Ritter) as she tries to rebuild her life as a private eye, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York City, following a tragic end to her brief superhero career.
The show is a loose adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' acclaimed Alias graphic novel and it is also the second part of the lead-up to The Defenders TV show, after the upcoming Daredevil series.
Darville, Moriarty and Traval will join Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor, Mike Colter, Carrie-Anne Moss and David Tennant in the second Marvel series for the streaming service.
The 13-episode series, which is currently filming, will premiere in 2015 on Netflix.
