During the arduous wait for Hideo Kojima to announce the release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, fans like myself find themselves exploring the internet in search for content on the upcoming MGS5. It will undoubtedly be one of the biggest games of the year, and my excitement for this title is only eclipsed by the PS4's Bloodborne.

In my excitement, I stumbled across this enlightening video, uploaded by Youtuber Sabconth, which shows a side to Skull Face we've never seen before in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. You'll be shocked to see him murder innocent children and laugh in their faces while doing so. Speaking of laughing!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Skull Face

Alright, alright. What can I say? I was looking for a laugh and Sabconth certainly provided it well, highlighting just how much fun can be had with a bit of good old fashioned modding on the PC! But while on the topic of Metal Gear Solid V: the Phantom Pain, I thought I'd ponder on the relations between Skull Face and Big Boss. How do they know one another? Spoilers ahead concerning Big Boss and Skull Face!

Well, according to the audio files in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Big Boss and Skull Face are associates that go way back. Allegedly, Big Boss rescued him on a mission in the past, one that resulted in their temporary alliance. But what about all of these phantoms around him?

There are a whole load of great fan theories surrounding this army of "phantoms", as they are referenced in Ground Zeroes. Soldiers state that it's like "rubbing shoulders with dead men" when around them. But where have they come from? Are they the subjects that Skull Face can be heard torturing on all of those tapes?

Apparently he is in control of 'Those who don't exist', who are cyborg prototypes that were controlled by a hivemind that Zero/Cipher used to have. But following Skull Faces advance into independence, he stole the project and took control. Though we're certain that Skull Face will not be the ultimate villain in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, himself and his army will certainly have some surprises in store for us!

So what are your theories surrounding Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and its characters? What's Skull Face's story in your mind? And did you enjoy Sabconth's video? Be sure to give him a like if you did!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be arriving in 2015 on the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Hold out for news from Kojima and Konami MGS5 fans, it won't be much longer!
