This is my first post ever so please don't be judgmental and just in time for Oscars 2015 ! Also this is my entry for MoviePilot Oscar 2015 Contest and I'm aiming for PS4 grand prize ! Obviously I will tell you Oscar facts most people don't know (or at least I think most people don't know).

1) Oscar winners DON'T get to keep their Oscar statuettes

I honestly think that's lame. All winners worked hard for that award and should able keep it. Winners actually have offer sell statuette back to Academy for $1 before they can sell it elsewhere. $1 ?!?!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY ?!?!?!?

2) About 6000 Voting Members in Academy

Actor vote actors, directors vote directors, and etc. All members can vote for Best Picture. Ballots are mailed late January and ballots are counted a week before the big day ! Only 2 people know results before ceremony.

3) Hired Seat-Fillers

Random people are hired so theatre looks full and they sit in celebs' seat while celebs go to restroom. Above all, they earn $125 just to sit there ! Easy quick cash.

4) Food Consumption

Guest at Oscar reception consume ............................ 1000 lobsters, 39 lbs caviar, 1200 bottles of champagne, 1200 oysters, and 4000 chocolate Oscars made with 15 lbs of edible gold dust !!!!! OMG THAT'S A LOT !

SO MUCH FOOD !!!!! Am I making you hungry ?????

5) First Academy Awards

First Academy Awards was in 1929 and lasted 15 minutes but wasn't filmed. "Oscar" was named by an Academy librarian who said statue looked like her Uncle Oscar. The nickname was officially adopted in 1939.

So there you go, you are now a bit more smarter. When i learned these facts my immediate reaction was Hollywood and Academy are crazier than I thought. Also I'm currently in high school (as of this post) and I hope to get an actor college degree (assuming I can afford tuition) so wish me luck. Thanks for reading, I hope I didn't disappoint you with my first MoviePilot post. Please do like, comment, and share on social media !
