As reported by Deadline,
Wonder Woman will start filming this fall!
Yes, long after the first Batman v Superman trailers and some more Wonder Woman movie details, we'll start to see [Wonder Woman](movie:45787). Something odd is going on here. A couple months ago, we learned that...
Six scripts are being written for this movie.
Yes, six scripts! DC is doing Wonder Woman and they want to get it right. This was reported back in December, and since scripts take a couple of months to write, those six scripts should be polished within the next month and chosen/combined. The point?
It is very possible that Wonder Woman can start filming on time!
The set release date is in June 2017, which means Warner Brothers doesn't have to worry about a thing. They can start worrying in late 2016 or early 2017. The reason I bring this up is because Wonder Woman could get delayed! Man of Steel could have been released late 2012, but was delayed until 2013. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice could have come July 2015, but is now coming in 2016! And here is another detail:
Wonder Woman might not even be green-lit!
Wonder Woman director Michelle MacLaren -- who I think is a great choice for this movie -- told us that there is no script and the movie is not green-lit. She also explained how secretive Warner Brothers is forcing her to be.
So maybe DC/WB did announce all their movies -- including Wonder Woman -- back in October. However, they announced it as a plan. Basically, it is an outline. As we get closer to the release date (even if it is a little more than two years away), Warner Brothers is likely to green-light it. Or who knows? Maybe the movie is green-lit by now.
You might have this question at the back of your mind:
Why even care about Wonder Woman being filmed this fall? We know it's coming!
With the detail that the film with the Amazon Warrior Princess wasn't even green-lit, it was kind of scary. The fact that principal photography begins this fall seemingly confirms that the movie is green-lit (I know I've used that term a lot).
Also, think of what news, pictures, reveals, and rumors will come!
Is an image of Wonder Woman with the "Unite the Seven" message coming?
Snyder picked such a random time to release the Aquaman picture. I mean seriously, why the middle of the night and in the middle of February? We're waiting for the Batman v Superman trailer, but I guess it's awesome! Some of us assumed that Zack Snyder would drop a picture each day, but it doesn't seem like it at the moment. Possibly every week? If Zack Snyder does continue with his "Unite the Seven" message and it does in fact refer to the Justice League, then definitely expect a Wonder Woman picture. Of course, it would probably be nothing new, but maybe he'd use a different filter so we can see her true colors.
What if the "Unite the Seven" message is only exclusive to Aquaman's reveal? What if Wonder Woman gets something like "Bring the Peace" or something that has a double entendre? It's exciting to think about.
Will Wonder Woman get a new costume?
I'm sure she will get at least a tweaked costume, and I'm sure Warner Brothers would want to reveal it before it gets leaked from the set. If you don't know, Wonder Woman absolutely will shoot scenes outside. She has many encounters with the public.
Which costume, though? Will she ever get pants? Is she actually going to be in the 1920s? Part of the reason I don't like that 1920s rumor is now she's the first superhero(ine). We were supposed to think Superman was the first superhero, then we learned Batman had been fighting for over ten years, and now Wonder Woman comes almost a hundred years before the events of Batman v Superman? I guess we'll have to wait for Dawn of Justice and more script details/rumors.
How about the cast and crew?
We know Gal Gadot is starring as Wonder Woman! Steve Trevor is a must. There's her mother, some Amazons, Zeus, and some politicians. We definitely need Zack Snyder as a producer! Why? He'll be the first to handle Wonder Woman on the big screen in Dawn of Justice. Also, didn't he choose Gal Gadot?
All rumors and official details about these characters and workers will circulate the internet as the filming time gets closer.
To wrap up...
I guess we'll just assume it's green-lit. The movie is happening thanks to THESE guys:
This will be a historical superheroine film. She's DC's most iconic superheroine. I predict it will receive 300 million dollars or more at the box office. But beyond money, we should also be very worried about fan and critic reception. It's Michelle MacLauren, so I think we should be very relieved to have her as the director. All I can think about is that the movie is finally coming!
