I had a hard time liking Birdman - although Michael Keaton did his usual great job in the role. It just didn't seem like much of a stretch to play an actor who hasn't overcome his most famous role, trying to remake his name on Broadway. The subtext of the schizophrenic relationship with that old character took the sadness to another level. Emma Stone as the daughter is great - until you find out the reason she's so 'troubled'. Actors and theater people will love this movie, as will anyone who likes to watch depressing movies.
