Lady Gaga has always been such an amazing, talented performer but people were completely thrown off by her wonderful tribute performance for 1965's The Sound of Music at this years Oscars.
She was glowing on stage, and looked as though she was having the time of her life, and how could she not be? Being able to perform that wonderful rendition of such a classic movie is an opportunity of a lifetime.
The whole performance flowed together so well. The set alone was magnificent, and perfectly whimsical. Just the way it should be. Including her dress. Did anyone else notice the similarities between Lady Gaga's dress and the dress Julie Andrews wore in the film as Maria?
What do you think? Were the dress similarities just a coincidence or was it done on purpose to better set the mood? Either way, it seemed like Julie Andrews herself was moved by the whole thing.
The two amazing women shared a long hug on stage, and seemed to be holding back some tears as well. Whether this years Oscars was a dud or not, I still think Gaga's performance would of stood out as one of the memories we will look back at and reminisce on.
