We all know The Simpsons contains countless movie and popular culture references, but did you know it's also frequently parodied events from the real world?

A Facebook fan page, 'Washing my hat guy hat honey' recently revealed some of the scenes from history which have been directly referenced in the 26 years The Simpsons has been gracing our screens. Check them out below:
