Leonard Nimoy, the actor who first brought the character of Mr. Spock to life on the original Star Trek television series was hospitalized early Monday with severe chest pains. TMZ is reporting that a 911 call led paramedics to the Nimoy home where they wasted no time in getting the beloved actor in front of a physician. At the time of this writing, there is no word on the actor's condition.
Mr. Nimoy announced last year that he was suffering from COPD and has been in and out of hospitals recently. He blames his poor health on years of smoking, although he quit the habit back in the 1980s. We will keep you updated as more information develops on Mr. Nimoy's condition.
