Hans Zimmer is quite possibly the best composer of the modern era. From the epic score to [Man of Steel](movie:15593), which even the people that hate the film loved the score, to films like Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy and even The Lion King, Hans Zimmer does it all. He has range in the music he creates, and everything he does sounds bold and unique. So, it should excite us fans that he will be composing the themes for both Aquaman and [Wonder Woman](movie:45787) in Batman vs Superman.

In a brief interview with MTV at the 87th Academy Awards, Zimmer started by saying that he hasn't written the score for the film yet, but has a couple of ideas. And then when asked if he needed to create separate themes for Wonder Woman and Aquaman, Zimmer stated:

"I'm trying, put it that way. We're in early days. But yes, of course, ideally that is what you want to do."

Zimmer was then asked if he was asked to score future film in the universe, and he said:

"No, not at all, because the studio is going to hedge its bets if I ruin this one."

Zimmer also went on to talk about how it is important to make the score for Batman vs Superman different from The Dark Knight Trilogy, and in order to not "betray Chris (Nolan)", Zimmer has handed off the reins to Junkie XL ([Mad Max: Fury Road](movie:41445)) to handle the theme for Batman.

This is interesting news, and may hint at the involvement of Aquaman and Wonder Woman in the film. In fact, it hints that we might see more of these characters than we previously thought, especially since they need their own theme for this film.

You don't do that for characters that simply make cameo appearances. I have a feeling that we may see Wonder Woman suit up in this film to fight a bigger threat, and may even get a hint of Atlantis and Aquaman's home and place in this universe. I am excited to see how all of this will play out.

Batman vs Superman hits theaters March 25, 2016, and will star Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy irons (Alfred), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane ((Martha Kent) and Jason Mamoa (Aquaman).
