Walker Stalker Con Chicago 2015:
For someone who has been to more conventions then I can count by now, I came away from WSC Chicago with one feeling for the show overall! That one feeling is summed up by this one word: 'FUN!!'
I honestly did not know what to expect going to the Walker Stalker Convention for the very first time. Especially going as a media rep, I knew what other conventions' limitations can be in that department, even with credentials. So, for this show I expected to have a bit more fun with the overall convention, so decided I would just go as a fan, since that is what the show runners at WSC prefer it to be.
"The best Walking Dead fan experience!"
Well... I actually got more work done in less time as a fan at the Walker Stalker Con show then I ever expected! So this article will just be a review of what a "FAN" can expect at a Walker Stalker Convention and what you can expect for future exclusive Moviepilot articles from MannysPlace Media! Enjoy all the fun pictures given to me from all the wonderful people at WSC!
What to expect at a WSC show:
Getting to meet your favorite stars! If you are diligent with your pre-show game plan and set your priorities just right, you will get to meet so many celebrities it's not even funny! Now, for a long-time Con goer like myself, I knew how to avoid getting stuck in long lines for just the "mega-stars" and tried to focus more on getting to meet as many people as I could. Check out my tips later in this article.
Now the next best thing to meeting a star of a favorite TV show is the interaction you can have with that celebrity!!
Other than just celebrities, there are loads of other fun things for the whole family to be had at WSC. There is a HUGE stage set-up with an "A" train car replica background billboard, a mega screen showing all sorts of The Walking Dead scenes with booming speakers and the rows of chairs lined up in front for the celeb panels. The panels are a huge hit at WSC shows as well! There are plenty of games and survivor games set up for fans to enjoy. Then comes the merch displays, artist stands, and anything else Zombie Culture/Horror Culture related.
Another of my favorite parts of the show was the replica The Walking Dead Dale's RV!! Since I was given a special tour of the RV when the Con was being prepared, I am able to give you the best looking pics of this great show piece that must be seen in person!
My Tips For WSC:
The way WSC has the lines set up with pre-ticket sales for VIPs is the absolute best way to enjoy this show. It does cost more then your general ticket, but if you want to avoid super long lines which are ALWAYS expected for a convention of this kind, the VIP ticket is the way to go. If you do want to be sure to see a very special star that is expected to be very high in demand then buy that stars VIP ticket for the exclusive perks!
Please, always show curtesy, be respectful of your requests to the actors and their already set-up guidelines for that individual star. Keep in mind, being polite, patient, and remember you do have to pay for autographs and personal "selfie" photos as well. This tip will get you far.
If you have a VIP ticket you don't have to buy anything to just say "Hi" to a star if they have a short to no line. If you do want a photo WITH the star that will cost money. So be aware of this when you take up spots in line. But if you take $100/$150 for just the show, you will be able to get quite a lot done and have plenty of lasting memories to share!

I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to go to a Walker Stalker Convention that will show up near your location. Now take into consideration that I personally can only speak about the Chicago show. On how well this WSC 2015 show was compared to the conventions I have been to, like SDCC, Wizard World Cons, Chicago Auto Show, NFL Super Bowl Fan Fest, down to your average small hotel convention. Walker Stalker was a BLAST and loads of FUN! There are lots of people who will attend this great event so in this regard... size does matter. By size I mean venue and location.
Thanks once again to Moviepilot for their support with MannysPlace (me) in becoming the blogger I have become thus far in such a short time. Also, a huge thanks to all WSC staff, event and talent handlers. Special thanks to WSC media relations for all their help!
