[Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021) is due to the hit the PS4, Xbox One and PC during the cold Winter months of 2015. As we all take shelter from the weather (unless you live in like...Florida, or something), we'll be hoping that developers have some great new games for us to get lost in during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
One series that always makes its presence known, is [Call Of Duty](movie:1068472) . Now however, DICE and EA will be releasing, not only their biggest FPS of 2015, but one of the most anticipated titles of the year around the same time. But does Star Wars: Battlefront have more potential for success on its release date for the XBOX One , PS4 and PC?
Star Wars: Battlefront & Call of Duty
With the support of possibly the most vibrant fan community in the entire world, we could see Star Wars: Battlefront take the top position in the charts this year. But does it really have what it takes to compare with Activision's Call of Duty series? Is the demand high enough for those that aren't interested in Star Wars?
As DICE and EA have rebooted this franchise, we can be completely sure of the fact that 2015 will not see the last Star Wars: Battlefront. There will be plenty more to come, and here's hoping DICE can introduce more and more innovative functions into a formula that's existed since 2004.
Personally, though I'd love to see Call of Duty knocked down off of its pedestal, I can't see Star Wars: Battlefront becoming as successful as the Modern Warfare or Black Ops titles. But who knows? Could we see our beloved Battlefront become the new frontier in FPS gaming?
I sincerely hope so! It'd be great to see a successful series that isn't rooted in such ridiculous reality. Advanced Warfare's plot was preposterously bland and I'm dying to see a successful FPS that brings back blasters, lightsabers and other crazy weapons. Advanced Warfare may have had the implementation of the exo-suit and jet packs and such, but I feel it's too little too late.
The prospect of Star Wars: Battlefront throwing us into space and engaging in hectic Battlefield-style wars is one that can hopefully grab enough people's attention. Can't we forgo such hyperbolic, masculine idiocy for one year to welcome the arrival of a bunch of aliens shooting each other on planets like Hoth and Endor?! No?!
Let us know whether you think Star Wars: Battlefront can take Call of Duty's place in the future! Star Wars: Battlefront will be released for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC during Winter 2015, before the arrival of [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](movie:711158) .
