When, a few days back, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder revealed the first image of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, it's fair to say that a decent chunk of the internet went into a frenzy of overexcited geekery-fuelled joy.
It was, after all, more-or-less all any of us had hoped for from the old-school hero's big screen treatment - a modern adaptation that would finally put an end to the constant mockery of Aquaman for being 'lame,' despite his recent comic-book adventures very much demonstrating otherwise.
I mean, just look at him...
He looks freaking awesome.
What a lot of people didn't comment on, though, is the vital piece of information which that tweeted image also reveals...
Zack Snyder Just Confirmed That Green Lantern WILL Be in Batman v Superman
Yup - from the looks of it, Green Lantern will indeed be making an appearance in Batman v Superman - meaning we're now less than a year away from seeing a new GL on the big screen.
Wondering how we could possibly know that? Well, the clue, as it turns out, is hidden in plain sight - and in the form of giant lettering and a hashtag.
That's right - that whole Unite the Seven deal right there, with the accompanying #unitetheseven call to social media action, tells us a whole lot about what we're about to see in Batman v Superman. Specifically, that:
We're Going to See Seven Justice League Members
Now, sure, Snyder might be suggesting that Aquaman is going unite the seven seas against the heroes of the land, or some such similarly obscure nautical reference, but let's be honest - when the director of a major comic-book movie introduces a hashtag like that, he knows exactly what he's doing...
We already know that Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman are going to be a part of the Justice League - and everything we've heard so far suggests we'll also be seeing them in roles of varying size in Batman v Superman - which adds up to six heroes.
On top of that, we know that Green Lantern has a solo movie planned, currently expected to arrive in 2020.
And, so, that reference to uniting the seven? That pretty much just guaranteed that we're going to see GL turn up in Batman v Superman.
The big question now? Just who the heck'll be playing him - and which version of Green Lantern they'll be playing.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Idris Elba as John Stewart...
