Wolf Creek and Wolf Creek 2 are known for being two of the best Aussie horror/thriller flicks in recent years - so it's only natural that we've yet to see more of Mick Taylor, right? Australia's 9 news has reported that Mick Taylor's gory rampage across the Australian outback is due to continue on the small screen sometime in the near future, so it's definitely something us horror fans can look forward to!
Video-On-Demand service 'Stan' announced recently that they have signed a production-development deal to create a six part Wolf Creek series. John Jarratt, known for his iconic role as deranged serial killer Mick Taylor in the previous two films, will be returning for his classic role.
The Wolf Creek series will be developed by original director, writer, and producer Greg McLean, and is said to be taking place after the events of Wolf Creek 2 (2013). Wolf Creek writer Felicity Packard, writer and producer Peter Gawler and executive producer Greg Haddrick will also be attached to the project - and the series is planned to be produced by Emu Creek Pictures and Screentime.
Wolf Creek and the character of Mick Taylor have become household names, and the opportunity to tell a rich and complex story in his world in a high-quality drama series is a thrilling creative opportunity.
- Emu Creek Pictures CEO McLean stated.
Being a huge fan of the Wolf Creek film series, I'm super duper happy to hear that we'll be seeing more of Mick Taylor. Although personally I would have preferred to see a 'Wolf Creek 3' (as it seems everything is going to TV these days), I'm still pretty stoked that the series will continue. Perhaps the series will delve into Mick's past, so we can understand just why he acts the way he does.
