Even though it’s been five years since the series finale of Ghost Whisperer, people are still talking about it. The series stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as somewhat of a psychic medium. She’s just like everyone else, except she has the ability to see and speak to the deceased. She spends five seasons helping grieving parents, spouses and families.
At a time when paranormal shows (fiction and reality) ran rampant, Ghost Whisperer rose above the rest. It surpassed the cliché character development of other shows directed toward teens and it added life the reality shows so desperately needed.
During this time, I was the founder of my own paranormal investigation team. I don’t believe in an afterlife, so I was doing my job to find rational explanations for things and put people at ease. I soaked up anything paranormal to enlighten myself, and Ghost Whisperer was a show I watched religiously.
Full of twists and turns, love and loss, this TV series ended too early in my opinion. The writers really knew how to keep viewer attention at a maximum level. Some TV shows “jump the shark” or fizzle out pretty quickly, but this one kept you on your toes.
Check it out on DVD and Blu-Ray. It’s worth the time.
