What's happening Ranger fans. I'm sure that all of you have seen that short movie called Power/Rangers, uploaded by Adi Shankar. I could not believe it when I first saw this movie. I mean like, James Van Der Beek and Katee Sackhoff? Wow! This was just, I don't know, words can't describe what I felt about this movie because it was just so dark and gritty. Now, we all know that Saban Brands has removed it last night but there are still those who would download it or upload it if they get the chance.

This short fan film was directed by Joseph Kahn and produced by Adi Shankar. Now most PR fans who grew up watching from Mighty Morphin were awed and impressed due to it's dark, gritty and violent story rather than the family friendly and goody-two shoes stories we saw while we were growing up. Of course not many liked it either. Some Power Rangers stars like Amy Jo Johnson were supportive of the film, but Jason David Frank was not and he did not like the movie at all. Honestly though, I wouldn't mind an MMPR movie being PG-13, but R-rated it's just not like MMPR at all. This version of MMPR were like a mixture of Scarface (due to drug use), Dredd and The Punisher.

We all know that the MMPR movie is coming in 2016, and I hope it's PG-13 because they need teenagers with ACTUAL attitudes, not those goody-two shoes from almost every PR show we've seen. I mean, there is nothing wrong with them being nice people and all, but they should use actual attitudes. I get Super Sentai being the PG-13 type, but they wouldn't go that far to make it R-rated. My honest thoughts about the acting is that it was alright, for a dark and gritty movie. Zack was more like a mixture of Frank Castle and Jason Todd in a certain way, and in terms of drug use, Tony Montana in a way. As for Billy, in one part we see him in the cover of the Out! magazine, which is a reference to David Yost being a homosexual. But I'm not gonna bore you with all the details, because I'm sure most have seen it.

In my honest opinion of Jason David Frank not liking the movie I understand he has his reasons of why he hated this movies. But I agree that the MMPR Reboot should be like a mix of Pacific Rim and The Avengers, not like a Scarface or Dredd versions of them. But let me tell you one thing, if Power Rangers was still on the Fox Network like all those years ago, it would've been alright. But with shows like Samurai, Super Samurai, Megaforce, Super Megaforce and Dino Charge being on Nickelodeon, guess that's reason enough for YouTube and Saban Brands to take it down. But still, if you liked the movie, that's fine, because I did too. If you didn't like the movie, that's ok.

So all I can say to Adi Shankar is this: I give you credit for taking a kids show and turned into a very dark, gritty storyline. But at the same time I have my cons with it due to drug use, since of course I don't fly with that.

So that is all I have to say about this issue. If you got any opinions on this issue, you are welcome to give them if you like.

God Bless and May The Power Protect You!
