Yesterday the very sad news hit that science fiction icon, Leonard Nimoy, had passed away at the age of 83.

Of course Leonard Nimoy will eternally be remembered as Mr Spock from not only the Star Trek TV Series but also many films in the franchise including both of JJ Abrams' newest films. Nimoy was also a director, responsible for two of the best Star Trek movies, "The Search For Spock" and "The Voyage Home".

Leonard Nimoy became a pop culture icon from playing just one role and that's not something a lot of actors can say.

Of course Leonard Nimoy shared the screen with William Shatner, who took to Twitter yesterday to share his feelings about the passing of his old friend.

"I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love." - William Shatner

Nimoy certainly lived long and prospered and effected all of our lives, he will be sorely missed.

RIP Leonard Nimoy
