New Daredevil stills have been released showcasing Vincent D'Onofrio ([Jurassic World](movie:32752)) as the Marvel mob boss Wilson Fisk. Known to comic book readers as The Kingpin, D'Onofrio's take on the character is a big, bad, bald guy that we think would even scare former Thing, Michael Chiklis.
The character is described as a New York-born gangster whose methods of cleaning up his city differ greatly from the blind title vigilante of Marvel's Daredevil. The underworld of Hell's Kitchen won't even speak Fisk's name because of the power he holds, though at first glance he comes off as insecure, especially when he meets the comely art dealer Vanessa Mariann.
But when folks cross or disrespect him, the results often come off as very bloody.
Clearly, this version of the character is not completely based off his [Marvel](channel:932254) Comics counterpart.
D'Onofrio, who studied the comic books to nail the feeling and mood of the character, says his Kingspin can go from being a child to a monster, depending on where his emotions take him.
Intriguing. Sounds like a rather deep take on Wilson Fisk, despite the fact that the actor is nowhere near as imposing as the 6-foot-7, 450-pound mob boss seen in the comic books.
[Daredevil](movie:47230) arrives on Netflix with 13-episodes on April 10th.
