While actor Billy Dee Williams (Batman) will not be appearing the Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens when it arrives in theaters at the end of the year, it sounds as though the actor is set to return as Lando Calrissian in another installment of the franchise.
According to The Boston Harold, the 77-year old Williams, who portrayed the suave gambler Lando Calrissian in two of the original Star Wars movies, is set to appear in the as yet untitled Star Wars: Episode 8.
An insider close to the project has informed The Sun: "It will be a fun cameo. Billy's definitely up for it."
Aside from playing Lando in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Williams has also voiced the character in the video games Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Battlefront and most recently in the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels.
For now, we suggest this be taken with a grain of salt. Although we hope this one pans out!
In addition, the same article mentions that actor Simon Pegg (Star Trek: Into Darkness) was spotted on the Abu Dhabi set of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, prompting many to once again wonder if the actor will be making an appearance in the film.
Yet, this time, Pegg has an answer for all the fans out there, stating: "Look, I love Star Wars, and I don't want people to watch and go, 'Oh, there's Simon Pegg's face.'"
More info as it becomes available!
